Biography: Alice was an unmarried cambric weaver from Preston who had stolen from James Winder.
Originally transported on the Emu, the ship was captured at Cape Verde. Alice and all the prisoners onboard were repatriated back to Woolwich where they were then transferred onto Broxbornebury- making it a two year journey for them.
On her (eventual) arrival, she was assigned to a Mr McIntosh at Sydney, but was in the female factory in 1818. She received her certificate of freedom in 1819. She was recorded as married this year and in 1820 and 21 but no records of this, or anything further for her can be found after this time.
