Biography: Ann, from Bolton, had received stolen cotton which had been taken by Noah France from Messrs Ormrod, Hardcastle and Vickers, cotton manufacturers and bankers in the town.
Whilst onboard the ship Ann had a minor health complaint but the surgeon’s threat of medicines and bleedings seemed to sort her out and she paid no further visits to the doctor.
Ann was sent to work for John Palmer at Parramatta on arrival. She began a relationship with fellow Lancastrian John Fryer/Friers (ship- Prince Regent) at Parramatta around the same time and they married August 1820 at St Johns. They are seen together on the 1825 and 1828 musters. Ann received her certificate of freedom in April 1826. By this time, aged 46, she was described as being: Height; 5 ft 2 inches, complexion; pale to ruddy, hair; brown turning grey and eyes; grey, Protestant. Although Ann’s husband received his certificate of freedom in 1844, to date I have found no more records of Ann.
