Biography: Jane had uttered a forged £1 note at Liverpool along with an Ann Ward who would be acquitted. The death sentence Jane had received was reprieved. A description of Jane was taken in Lancaster Castle which stated she was married with a child. She was a servant from Bolton and was 5ft 1 inch tall with brown hair, a dark complexion, dark green eyes.

Jane was sent to Millbank jail in London, arriving 1st November 1820, where she was described as being of good character. Jane was pardoned and discharged from Millbank on the 12th May 1824 after being recommended for a pardon on medical grounds after she had been held on the prison hulk ‘Narcissus’ during Millbank’s epidemic of 1823/4.
