Biography: Phoebe had been born in Liverpool and was married. She stole a cart/carriage cover belonging to William Preston. She had seen many past convictions and imprisonments. Described in jail as being a victualler with brown hair, grey eyes, a fair complexion and a turned up nose; her husband lives in Stanley Street (Liverpool). Due to her advanced age it was unlikely Phoebe would have ever been transported and in 1824 she was recorded as being in ill health. She died, aged 62, in Lancaster Castle at 4pm on the 24th September 1826 and was buried in St Mary’s church yard, next to the castle.
