Biography: Elizabeth had stolen two handkerchiefs and a piece of muslin from two shops at Liverpool. She left Lancaster Castle with the other women and was taken to Long Reach, Gravesend for boarding the ship in mid December 1805.
She got her ticket of leave in 1811 and collected her certificate of freedom in 1814, on which she was described as having been born in Wicklow, Ireland, was 5ft 1, with a pale complexion, dark brown hair and brown eyes and worked as a housekeeper and now, aged 37. in 1816, she was still a single housekeeper and that year gave evidence in court when two men were charged with stealing goods and claiming they had been in her house at the time of the crime.
An Elizabeth Pearson (rather than Peterson) is recorded having died in Sydney in July 1838 aged 61 which may be our Elizabeth as the ages match.
