Biography: Mary was a single woman of Manchester who had stolen a cotton frock. She already had a previous conviction for stealing paper.
Mary married time served convict Matthew Elkin (ship- Perseus) in February 1805 at St Johns, Parramatta and shortly after had a baby, Ann, in August the same year. Sadly, in February 1807, Mary died at Parramatta but was buried in the Old Sydney Burial Ground.
