Biography: Margaret was discovered with two forged pound notes in her possession. She was an oat cake baker from Manchester. She was described as having been born in Accrington and had a rather sallow complexion with grey eyes and brown hair and her husband was a convict also in Lancaster Castle.

Margaret was sent to Millbank Penitentiary in London on the 30th November 1821. At Millbank she was further described as age 45 with four children and was 5ft tall. She was discharged by pardon on the 12th May 1824 after being recommended for a pardon on medical grounds after she had been held on the prison hulk ‘Narcissus’ during Millbank’s epidemic of 1823/4.
