Biography: Ellen pickpocketed from James Cardwell at Liverpool, stealing a guinea and 11 £1 bank notes. She left Lancaster Castle on the 8th July that year and was sent to Millbank jail in London. She was described as ‘born at Liverpool, single, 5ft 3 with brown hair, a ruddy complexion, grey eyes, in good health and was of good character.

Ellen was pardoned and discharged from Millbank on the 14th August 1820.
