Biography: Esther, a cook, had broken and entered the dwelling house of Richard Marsh, at Westleigh near Wigan, and had stolen four silver tablespoons, three silver teaspoons and a silver cream jug.

In New South Wales, she was assigned as a cook in the household of the Governor Macquarie and she remained there until in 1817 Esther married convict John Fullagher (ship- Anne). The couple had six children (William, Sarah, John, Hannah, Mary Ann and Elizabeth). Esther died in September 1861, aged 77 at her home on the ‘Western road’ where they had land and ran a beer house, and is buried along with her husband, children and extended family members in a family grave with headstone in St John’s, Parramatta.
