Biography: Margaret, along with Thomas Smart, stole 19 printed cotton shawls and seven silk handkerchiefs from one shop and twelve handkerchiefs from another at Preston. Thomas was transported and ended up marrying Ann Jane Jones who had been convicted with both himself and Margaret at the same Assizes
