Biography: Mary was a widow of Manchester. She had stolen shoes from P. McGuire. She was put on board ship on the 18th March. At sea she suffered vertigo and was given mercury, jalap root and a spanish fly plaster. Later in the voyage she had constipation and was given magnesium sulphate. At voyage end, the surgeon noted she “is in a state of great debility after the voyage. She has frequently been troubled with rheumatic pains on the passage”.
After arrival Mary was employed as a servant at Sydney but in 1820 and 1821 was in the female factory. No further records of her have been found after this time.
