Biography: Sally (officially Sarah) had a death sentence reprieved. She had stolen £86 5/, in a mix of bank notes, guineas, half guineas a shillings from the dwelling house of John Wiswall of Billinge (near Wigan), her master.
She had a child, John in 1810, with a John Wilkinson though it doesn’t appear a marriage took place. Sally died in March 1813 and was buried at St Johns Parramatta. John (senior) after remarrying Ann Downs died in 1817, leaving John (junior) an orphan in the care of his step-mother Ann and her new husband Robert. They gave John up to an orphanage shortly after marriage in July 1818 though claimed him back in 1826 when they wanted him as a blacksmith’s apprentice for Robert.
