Elizabeth got a ticket of leave in 1832 at which time she was described as a laundress, 4 ft 11, a fair-ruddy complexion which was slight pock pitted, light brown hair and blue eyes and a navy coloured mole on her chin. received her certificate of freedom in 1834. She then married publican Michael Cohen (ship-John) in 1839 and was charged with bigamy in 1843 but was acquitted despite both husbands and both marriage certificates being presented in court! The newspapers described Issac as a middle-aged unassuming working class man and Michael as a ‘well-fed, straw-hatted, buckram-starched, bang-up swell’!
