Biography: Along with Mary Hill and Martha Pennington and three other young men, Mary assaulted and robbed Patrick Griffiths of his pocket watch on the highway at Liverpool. Mary was an unmarried servant, born in Ireland and Catholic. She was described as 5ft 2 with dark brown hair, brown eyes and dark complexion and of good character. Her death sentence was reprieved and she was sent to Millbank jail in London where she was pardoned and discharged on the 29 April 1824 along with Martha Pennington. Their accomplice Mary Hill had been described as bad in jail and was soon put onboard the ships to Australia.
