Biography: Margaret stole £58 17/ and a purse belonging to Edward Merchant at Manchester along with two other men who were also transported. Born at Manchester, she was described as having a sallow complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair and two small scars on left cheek and had lost one of her front upper teeth. She was a servant and had been twice before in the New Bailey and was Catholic.

After arriving she was sent to the female factory and was still there the following year. In 1829, Margaret was sent to the 3rd class of the female factory for stealing for three months. In 1831 she was sent again to the 3rd class of the female factory for 6 weeks. In 1832, Margaret married free convict Samuel Stocks/ Stokes, a needlemaker from Mansfield at Castlereagh. They had a daughter, Mary Ann the following year. Her husband remarried in 1837, suggesting that Margaret may have passed away or had left him.
