Biography: Jane stole several articles of wearing apparel from the dwelling house of John Mollineux at Manchester. A receipt exists for £15 5 shillings for transporting a group of female prisoners including Jane from Lancaster Castle to Spithead to the transport ship. The year after arrival, Jane married convict David Lloyd (Royal Admiral) and probably helped him in the brewing and sale of beer from their house. She received her certificate of freedom in 1810. In 1814 she and her husband lived at Windsor and in 1817 she is simply listed as a settler’s wife but the following year in 1818 she is a widow though her husband wasn’t dead, suggesting they had either separated or there is an error. 1819 she is listed as a housekeeper, 1820 and 21 sees her ‘married’ again. In 1825 she was employed by German/Liverpudlian Mr Klensendorlffe at his inn at Cawdor alongside a James Butterworth (possibly a family member from home?).
