Biography: Esther was a widow from Manchester. She had stolen a gown from a W.Griffith. Esther was transferred to the Preston House Of Correction in 1818 as demolition work was beginning on the dungeon tower where female convicts awaiting transportation were kept. She died in there in April 1819, aged 74 and was buried in Preston.
