Biography: Elizabeth was found to have a mould and counterfeited a shilling and a sixpence at Manchester along with a man (James Doom) who received the same sentence. The police had suspected them of being coiners and found them at work in a cellar in Green Street, Manchester.

On arrival in Australia, Elizabeth was described as having been born at Preston, she was single, 4ft 11 inches, she had a brown freckled oval shaped face with a high forehead, black hair and eyebrows, brown eyes and a long nose. She was tattooed with ‘P.K.’ on her right arm and her little finger on her right hand was crippled and she had been well behaved onboard ship. Between 1839 and 1841, Elizabeth had numerous charges against her for misconduct, most resulting in suspension of her ticket of leave and being sent to the house of correction to do hard labour for 2-4 months. In late 1840, she was given permission to marry convict William Saunders though it doesn’t appear the marriage took place. Elizabeth got her certificate of freedom in September 1841. She died from a stroke in 1852.
