Biography: Betty was a single woman of Manchester, she had stolen money at Manchester. The Lancaster Gazette reported on Saturday 14 August 1802 (page 3) that all the nine Glatton convict women left the castle on Monday 9th August 1802 to be taken to Chatham to be put onboard.
Betty was free by 1808. She was in a common law relationship with fellow Lancastrian Joseph Buckley (ship- Earl Cornwallis). Betty died in June 1819, aged 55 and was buried at the Old Sydney burial ground and Joseph remarried later the same year.
