Biography: Ann had uttered a forged bill (note) and had a death sentence reprieved. Ann was sent on to Preston’s House of Correction in February 1805 along with Margaret Jones, Peggy Marsh and Margaret Edwards. A bill exists in Lancashire Archives for the expenses of conveying them 22 miles from Lancaster to Preston. They all received pardons and were freed after soon after.
