Biography: Margaret stole clothing from a Philip Kenny at Manchester. She was originally from Angus, Scotland. In Australia she married Thomas Kelly who was a farmer and had a daughter, also Margaret in 1821. She had been described ‘not considered a good woman but industrious’. Her husband Thomas was an adulterer and left her and the child to run the farm. Margaret got her certificate of freedom in 1826. She died in 1871 aged 86.
